So much for retirement (closed to Holli, Victoria, and Dolly CR)

Jessie had finally saved up enough, or maybe better said worked enough, to buy the cabin she wanted outright. She had enough money to live comfortably and not have to worry about any more random jobs. At the moment she was cooking breakfast for herself, and getting a couple of steaks out of the walk in cooler for her girls. She laid both out on the porch, knowing they'd come when they were ready.

She liked being out here for a lot of reasons, one being she loved nature. But the other being that she had bonded with a certain snow leopard. Since Jessie had freed Holli from those poachers, Jessie found herself with the most loyal partner she could ask for. More than once Holli had alerted her to someone getting the drop on her, and had even attacked more than once to protect her. The first thing she put into that cabin was a meat locker. With a sidekick as loyal as Holli, Jessie had every intention of taking care of her.

"A meat locker?" Dolly said, poking her head around the corner, blowing a strand of hair out of her eyes, as it flopped back down, as she sighed in defeat. "...you sure you're not spoiling Holli, Jess?"

Jessie chuckled.

"Not at all. Besides, she's earned being spoiled a little." Jessie said, grinning. It was true, though. She likely wouldn't have made it out of her last assignment in one piece without Holli.

Aaaaaand speak of the fuzzy devil cutie, here comes Holli padding around the corner, pausing to stretch her paws and yawn. "What's goin' on?" She yawned, as Dolly squealed in delight at the sight of the stretchy snow leopard.

"There's my partner in crime." Jessie said, chuckling at the double meaning that took on. She pet her, before motioning to the steak on the plate, "Dig in, girl." Jessie said, winking at Dolly and going back to the kitchen.

Holli let out a pleased chuff at the petting, as she dug into the steak, pausing long enough to burp, and going back to the food.

"And you wonder why I treat her so good." Jessie said to Dolly, before sitting Dolly's plate on the counter with hers, "Besides, I like taking care of my friends." She said, motioning to a stool.

Holli stretched as she finished the meat, as she stretched once again, letting out a mew as she padded over to Jessie, as she nudged her nearest hand, as she licked her lips.

Jessie lovingly pet her head.

"You earned it, girl. Thanks to you, I didn't get my ass shot off." She said, rubbing her head even more, "And you got to snack." She said, chuckling as she thought of the guy running off. She kept that hand on Holly, and took a bite of her own breakfast, before her phone vibrated. She pulled it out, checking it, before groaning.

"You think they'd give us a few days off, wouldn't you?" Jessie said, irritated. They'd just got home two days ago, and now Jessie's bosses wanted to talk to her again.

"Do I need to go with you and rip the pants off, literally, of these doofuses that keep calling you in?" Holli commented, rolling up from being stretched out on her side, as she blinked up at Jessie with one of those kinds of stares, glancing over her shoulder, when another voice rang out.

"Wait a sec, isn't that MY job to bite the utter crap out of those morons, Holli?" Another voice rang out, as Victoria padded into the room with a mega yawn, stretched her paws, and shook out her fur, as she bounced over to Jessie, tail wagging up a storm old habits die hard. "...I mean, sure, Jessie appearing with a snow leopard could be pants shitting, but why not both of us? Couldn't that work, too?".

Jessie smiled, hearing her new friend come over. She was glad Holli had made another friend, and she was glad to have another animal around. Jessie tended to trust them more than most people.

"That might be a good idea," Jessie told Holli, getting up and kneeling down to lovingly pet her side, "And you know I don't take you out with us because somebody needs to look out for Dolly while we're gone. BUt if you wanna come, I'll bring you too." Jessie said, going back to the meat locker, and getting a few more steaks, two for Victoria and one more for Holli to keep it even.

Victoria rolled onto her back, whining for belly rubs, as she glanced up at Jessie, as her mouth watered at the steak, causing her to jump up and start dancing up a storm, as she playfully jumped up to reach the meat.

"Gimme, gimme gimme!" She barked excitedly, trying to reach said food, but tilting her head to the side at Jessie's comment. "...shouldn't I stay here then?".

"You sure you want to take that mutt with you?" Holli yawned slightly, watching the wolf whine and act like a common dog when she spied the meat.

"Besides, you appearing with a snow leopard is like saying "I'm kick ass, I rock, prepare to have your pants have new holes in them." Holli commented, kneading her paws in the air, as she stretched.

Jessie laughed, playing with Victoria a minute and teasing her with the steak, before giving it to her, rubbing her belly.

"Of course. You're both kick ass. The bosses are finally getting used to the fact that I've got a snow leopard that protects me. Having a wolf that does too would be kinda cool, too." Jessie said, winking at Holli, before kneeling and hugging her around the neck, nuzzling her face in Holli's fur affectionately. Holli had her wrapped around her paw, for reason. She was easily the most loyal friend Jessie had.

"But, I'm better at it." Holli commented, bathing her ear, as she yawned lazily. "...I mean, how scary would it be if you appeared and I would be hissing up a storm. I wish I could roar, though. That would be awesome!".


((I wonder what would happen if Holli saw a box for the first time...LOOL))

"I like your approach though, Holli. They usually tinkle themselves and run. Makes my job easy. And Victoria, your howl would terrify anyone." Jessie said, chuckling at how compeditive they were being with each other.

"I think I'll just go with you." Holli yawned slightly, watching the wolf near her roll about, sit up, and sniff about for her favorite toy. "...besides, the dog looks busy.".

Jessie chuckled at Victoria's antics.

"Victoria, do you want to come, or stay here and make sure Dolly's OK?" Jessie asked, still petting Holli and enjoying watching Victoria play.

"I don't mind staying here." Victoria said, glancing up at Jessie, as she tilted her head at the snow leopard's comment, whining as her ears drooped. "...but I'm not a dog...I'm a wolf...".

"I know you're a wolf. I wouldn't trust just a dog to take care of Dolly. that girl gets into more trouble than me." And, for those that knew Jessie, that was a lot.

"Hey! I do NOT!" The familiar voice of Dolly rang out, as the leopard and wolf glanced at her.

The brunette giggled, as she shook her head and playfully stuck out her tongue at her friend.

"That's not what I hear. I heard you gave the two guys that came here looking for me the what for." Jessie said, a teasing grin on her face. She was grateful to have a friend like Dolly to handle things when she wasn't here.

"Yeah, well...they were being a pain in the ass!" Dolly grinned, snickering at the memory, as she grinned over at Jess, diving into the fridge to get the two something to drink. "...I couldn't just let them act like they owned the place.".

She then lifted up her head, inside the fridge, followed by the smack of her head hitting the fridge, the brunette's "OW...! Duh, I'm still inside the fridge...", and a voice ringing out, "Hey, Jess! Want a booze while I'm in here?".

"Nah, too early for booze. You OK, though? THat didn't sound good." Jessie said, shaking her head and trying not to chuckle at her friend.

"I'm fine, I'm fine..." Dolly grunted, rubbing her head, as she leaned out of the fridge, making a silly face, as she rubbed her head again. "...the room is spinning slightly, but, eh...I'll live.".
